Biography

Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmail Yaman has taught numerous undergraduate and graduate courses throughout his academic career. He has also published many national and international studies, which have received significant citations. During his time in Manisa, he performed stapled hemorrhoidopexy (known as sutureless hemorrhoid surgery) and advanced laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgical procedures. In Balıkesir, he was the first to perform laparoscopic hiatal hernia repair, laparoscopic colon resection, laparoscopic gastric surgery, laparoscopic hernia surgery, non-surgical pilonidal sinus (ingrown hair) treatment, ERCP, and advanced endoscopic procedures.

Since 2005, he has been actively involved in obesity surgery. In 2013, he designed a laparoscopic instrument called the "aspiration device" and obtained its patent. He also worked at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2010 on advanced endoscopy and in 2014 on ERCP. In addition, he has served as a trainer in endoscopy and holds a trainer’s certificate.
